Video Walkthrough of a Custom Sportfishing Yacht

These walkthrough videos are always a challenge because we’re constantly battling construction and delivery deadlines. Custom boatbuilding is similar to building a custom home in that there are countless decisions being made daily and each decision affects the next stage in the build. Unlike building a custom home, these boats also have to run at 40 knots in big seas. Once they’re finished with the build we typically only have half a day with the finished boat before they push off from the dock with their new owners. During this short window of time we capture a scripted walkthrough video, b-roll, drone video and photography of all the spaces. The easiest thing to do would be to do a typical real estate style video tour and just show off the finished spaces, but that wouldn’t do it justice. These boats are sometimes 3 year builds (or more if they get sold to a new owner prior to completion). Many skilled craftsmen from every different trade have their hands on these boats and work together to build a floating piece of art. Thinking of these boats as characters in a story give the walkthrough videos a little more substance. It truly feels like you’re getting to watch these boats come to life.
