2024 Family Highlight Video

When my son was born in 2012, I put together a simple highlight video for my wife so we wouldn’t forget all the little moments that came with such a big milestone. The following year she got pregnant with my daughter so I made another video for that milestone. Every year after that brought new milestones that justified putting together a video. Our phones, computers and icloud accounts have quickly filled up with these moments and putting together a video each year seems like it gets harder and harder for me. However, sometimes someone in the family will pull up youtube on the the TV and inevitably click on one of our old family highlight videos. Anyone within ear shot of the speaker will migrate to the living room and we’ll sit together and laugh and cry and remember how great life really is. I understand that living in the past isn’t wise. But that’s not what these videos are for. They act as a compass to keep us pointed in the right direction when ambition or discouragment try to deviate our path. We never stage moments for our videos, but we stay mindful of them, making sure to live our best life all year long so the videos are worth re-watching year after year. On to 2025!
